Orchids are epiphytes; they develop on the branches of other trees or rocks. They need air and space around them in the surrounding so that they do not decompose in a pot of normal pot mixture.

Orchids need indirect light. They need a huge amount of light but orchids are very specific about a fixed amount of sufficient light requirement. The amount required by leaves, indicated by the color of leaves. For example brown color of leaves is a result of less required light because excess light will burn the leaves, deep green justifies the requirement of leaves, and grassy green shows that the orchid plant is receiving sufficient light to flowers.

What to do when flowers of orchids fall?

When the orchid flowers fall off, it’s the time to repot and rebloom an orchid plant has come.

Repotting: There are many reasons to re-pot an orchid. The following reasons which justify why we have to re-pot an orchid:

  • When the roots of orchids are developing out of the pot and turned out in white color. This is the perfect time to root the orchids.
  • If the roots of an orchid plant are decomposed then it is indispensable to re-pot orchid because this is a major indication.

When you observe development, that time is considered perfect for repotting the orchid plant.

Materials Required:

  • New pot
  • New potting mix
  • Large bowl
  • Scissors

Potting medium: use a bark based medium instead of garden soil. Cautiously cover a bit of potting mix around the roots of the orchid plant.

1) Not enough light:

2) Too much light:

4) Fertilizer

If the orchid is in a disinfected, inorganic rooting mix, it cannot take all the supplements that are required by plants. To let the orchid the supplement boost that it needed.

5) Repotting:

When orchids develop their receptacles, their roots can strangle from lack of real ventilation(airing).

Repot the root again, if you observe that roots are turning brown or getting wrinkled.

6) Season

orchids blossom their best in the drop-down and orchids try to blossom it in the summer.

7)Too much water

Over-watering the orchid is the main reason for the orchid to not bloom.

When orchids become damaged through heat and loss of water or root color appears red, this is the sign that it is collecting excessive water.

8) Too little water:

Under-watering the orchid, the orchid’s leaves look dry, water the plant.

SOLUTION TO STOP FLOWERS FALLING OFF:

  • Restrict the entrance of pests. It is approved to use impervious products.
  • Examine that the orchid plant is not revealed to the uttermost temperature neither above 30°C nor below 12-15 °C during flowering.
  • Keep away from direct sunlight and harsh air movements.
  • Do not change the surrounding environment of orchids while they are blooming.
  • Avoid overwatering but do not let the roots dry out as well.
  • Avoid regular spraying the blooms with water.
  • Keep away from charged environments like smokes, unpleasant odors, organic gas discharges, etc.
  • Eventually, they perceive that the plant is free from disease or attacks of parasites that can give rise to incapacitate the plant.
  • Specifically, review the conditions of roots that they do not get rot or they are not turning to yellow.
